  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef with chopped onion; season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Grease a baking dish and layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom.
  4. Add half of the cooked ground beef mixture followed by half of the cream of mushroom soup mixed with milk.
  5. Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes; remove foil, add cheese on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly.
