  • 1.5 lbs white fish fillets (such as cod, mahi-mahi, or tilapia)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 limes, juiced and zested
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 4 cups shredded cabbage (green or red, or a mix)
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 12 corn or flour tortillas
  • Optional toppings: avocado slices, hot sauce, pickled onions

Instructions

  1. Pat fish fillets dry and rub with a spice mixture of chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook fish for 3–4 minutes per side until flaky.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice and zest, minced garlic for the lime crema.
  4. Combine cabbage, carrots, red onion in another bowl; dress with lime juice and olive oil.
  5. Warm tortillas and assemble tacos by layering slaw and fish; top with lime crema.
