  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 (15-ounce) can chopped stewed tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 (15-ounce) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, cook the ground beef, garlic, and onion for about 10 minutes until the beef is browned. Drain any excess liquid.
  2. Stir in the chopped stewed tomatoes, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, oregano, and cayenne pepper into the meat mixture.
  3. Reduce heat to low and cover the saucepan. Allow the chili to simmer for one hour, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add the pinto beans and salt to the chili. Stir well and cook for an additional 15 minutes before serving hot.
