Breadstick Snakes are a delightful and whimsical treat that will add a playful twist to your Halloween gatherings. These savory snake-shaped breadsticks are easy to make, making them perfect for both kids and adults.

  • 13.8 ounces refrigerated pizza dough
  • 3 black olives (for eyes)
  • Piece of red bell pepper (for tongues)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for brushing)
  • 2 teaspoons poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Cut black olives into small pieces for eyes and slice red bell pepper into forked tongues.
  3. Unroll pizza dough on a clean surface and cut it into 12 strips.
  4. Roll each strip into a 12-inch rope, tapering one end for the tail and flattening the other end for the head.
  5. Wrap each rope around wooden chopsticks or metal straws. Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with poppy and sesame seeds.
  6. Add olive pieces on the heads for eyes.
  7. Bake on parchment-lined baking sheets for 11 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. After cooling slightly, use a toothpick to insert red pepper pieces as tongues.
